Children's Corner Headingley
![]() |
Our Headingley Nursery, in Leeds, is in the heart of Headingley, yet is set in peaceful woodland surroundings. The Nursery is in the centre for The Blind and Partially Sighted at the rear of Headingley Castle. |
The nursery is a small and friendly 20 place setting. The children are separated by age into two large colourful, open-plan rooms, and being so small, the nursery retains a homely cosy feel. We try to retain that home from home feeling whilst giving children the opportunity to play and explore. Our green woodland surroundings mean the children get lots of different experiences in a very urban setting.
We have use of a very large hall which is used for physical play when the weather restricts the outdoor play in our secure and safe playground in the woods. The extensive grounds are also used for picnics and treasure hunts during the nicer weather.
Throughout the day children take part in many group activities but each child's individual needs are looked at and accommodated too. The Nursery is known as a friendly fun place to be, and all children are given a full preparation for 'big school' when the time comes. The nursery is open Monday to Friday 7.30am until 6pm. The nursery closes for the statutory bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New year. In addition to this the nursery closes for 2 staff training days, usually in June and December.
